Licence Condition
By 30 November 2024, the Licensee must construct and implement the following works and carry on the following investigations at Bateau Bay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP): a) upgrade the existing Odour Control Facility at Bateau Bay STP; b) replacement of activated carbon media in the sedimentation tank odour control unit c) implement the optimisation exercise using odour data loggers at the inlet works to monitor chemical dosing effectiveness in managing odour; and d) investigation into a deodorisation system. The Licensee must provide a written report to the EPA at info@epa.nsw.gov.au detailing the completion of the works and outcomes of the investigations detailed above.
The EPA is aware that Central Coast Council has commenced an Odour, Corrosion and Septicity Strategy detailed in correspondence by Council on 8 September 2023.
